Sweepstakes Casino Rules Compared (2026)
Of seventeen sweepstakes casinos whose own rules we read, seven set the minimum cash redemption at 50 and ten at 100. All seventeen exclude eleven of the same states, and fifteen state a default playthrough of 1x. Free mail-in requests pay 1 to 5 Sweeps Coins where the rules give a number.
Key facts
- Seventeen brands are compared, each read from its own sweepstakes rules or terms between October 2, 2026 and November 2, 2026.
- Minimum cash redemption is 50 at seven of them and 100 at ten.
- Eleven states are excluded by all seventeen: California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee and Washington.
- A default playthrough of 1x is stated by fifteen of the seventeen; two require more and zero state none in the text we read.
Review sites rank sweepstakes casinos by their bonuses. This page does something plainer: it puts the written rules side by side. Every number below was read from the operator's own sweepstakes rules or terms on the date shown, and where a rulebook doesn't give a number the table says "Not published" instead of borrowing one from somewhere else. We haven't tested any payouts, so nothing here tells you how fast a site pays in practice.

Amounts are shown as the operators state them. Fortune Coins counts in FC at 100 FC to the dollar, so its row is converted to dollars. A blank playthrough cell means the rulebook text we read states no default. Global Poker's current sweepstakes rules page is blocked outside allowed states, so its row uses its live state notice (re-checked October 12, 2026), its Terms version 22.0, and, for the mail-in amount, its Sweeps Rules version 10.0 of March 11, 2024, the newest copy we could open. Each date links to the rules that were read.
What the rulebooks have in common
Fifteen of the seventeen say Sweeps Coins must be played through once before they can be redeemed, and several add that the operator may require more. Chanced and Punt require more by default: 3x under their sweepstakes rules.
On age, four require 21 (Chumba Casino, Global Poker, High 5 Casino and Modo Casino) and twelve say 18 or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher.
Every one of them excludes the same eleven states: California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee and Washington. That overlap lines up with the statewide bans in Where Are Sweepstakes Casinos Legal?.
Where they differ
Minimum cash redemption. It splits cleanly in two: Fortune Coins, Global Poker, Modo Casino, Sportzino, WOW Vegas, Yay Casino and Zula Casino at 50, and ten others at 100. If you're chasing a first redemption, that is the number that decides how long the first one takes.
Read from each operator's own rules between Oct 2, 2026 and Nov 2, 2026. Brands that don't publish a cash minimum are left out.
Gift cards. nine of the seventeen publish a separate gift card minimum, from 10 (Spree) to 100 (Chumba Casino). A lower gift card minimum is the only way to cash out under 50 anywhere on this list.
Free mail-in requests. All seventeen publish a number, from 1 (LoneStar Casino and RealPrize) to 5 (Chanced, Chumba Casino, Fortune Coins, Global Poker, Punt, Sportzino, Yay Casino and Zula Casino). How to Get Free Sweeps Coins Without Buying walks through how the route works, and Mail-In Sweeps Coins does the postage and per-hour math.
Read from each operator's own rules. Brands that don't state an amount are left out, and amounts can change.
Which brands accept your state?
Which verified sweepstakes casinos accept your state?
Turn on JavaScript to use the state picker. The comparison table above lists every excluded state for each brand.
Beyond the eleven states every brand excludes, the lists diverge. Indiana (16 of 17), Maine (16 of 17), Delaware (12 of 17) and Oklahoma (10 of 17) are excluded by most of them. Illinois (8), West Virginia (5), Iowa (3), Kentucky (3), Maryland (3) and Arizona (2) appear on only a few lists. 23 states appear on none of the seventeen lists, which is worth less than it sounds, because a state can also block a site by law after the operator last updated its rules.
What the rulebooks leave out
- Welcome and daily bonus amounts are mostly missing from the rules. They sit on the promotions pages, which change often.
- Processing times are usually "as soon as practicable" or not stated at all.
- Some rules allow fees on redemptions, and some limit how much you can redeem per day, week or month.
Because of that, this page covers rules, not experience. Gold Coins vs Sweeps Coins explains how redemption works in general, and Modo Casino Free SC goes deep on one brand.
Before you sign up anywhere
- Open the rules linked in the table and confirm your state is not on the operator's current list.
- Check the minimum against what you realistically expect to win.
- Look at how the operator says it verifies identity before a redemption, and have your documents ready.
How we gather and check this data is explained in How we make our guides. This page is general information, not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions
Which sweepstakes casino has the lowest minimum redemption?
Among the seventeen compared, Fortune Coins, Global Poker, Modo Casino, Sportzino, WOW Vegas, Yay Casino and Zula Casino set the minimum cash redemption at 50. Gift card minimums can be lower: the lowest we found is 10 at Spree. Minimums can change, so read the rules before you play.
Do all sweepstakes casinos exclude the same states?
No. All seventeen exclude California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee and Washington, but beyond that the lists differ: Indiana is excluded by 16 of 17, and 23 states are excluded by none of them.
Is the free mail-in route really worth it?
Every rulebook describes it, and the amounts we found run from 1 to 5 Sweeps Coins per request. You pay for the stamp and wait for the post, so for most people the amounts are small next to a 50 minimum.
How current is this comparison?
Each row shows the date its rules were read and links to them. Operators change terms often, so treat a row as a snapshot and check the linked rules before you sign up.
