Chumba Casino Free SC: Bonuses, Redeeming, States
A Chumba Casino mail-in request pays 5 Sweeps Coins, and the daily bonus can be claimed once every 24 hours. You need 100 SC to redeem, after playing them through at least 1x. Sweeps Coins expire 60 days after your last login, and you must be 21 or older.
Chumba Casino is the sweepstakes casino people search for more than any other. It's run by VGW Games Limited, the group behind Global Poker and LuckyLand Slots, and its rules are among the oldest in the business: the copy we read is version 18.0. This guide sticks to what those rules and Chumba's own state notice say, and flags where they say nothing.

Free Sweeps Coins at Chumba: the four routes
Chumba's rules list exactly four ways to collect Sweeps Coins (SC). Only three of them are free:
- The Daily Bonus. Sign in, click Get Coins at the top of the page, open the Daily Bonus tab and click Claim. Once a day, on a clock that resets every 24 hours. The rules don't give the amount, and neither does any other page we read, so ignore anyone quoting a fixed number.
- Social media contests. Chumba runs no-cost giveaways on its social pages, each with its own rules and amount.
- A mail-in Request Card. 5 SC per valid card, which ties for the highest amount among the casinos we've compared. The details are below.
- Bonus SC with Gold Coin packages. Specially marked packages add SC on top. This one costs money, it's optional, and the bonus coins still have to be played through.
How to mail a Chumba Request Card
Chumba's postal route is stricter than most, and a card that breaks a rule is void:
- Generate a Postal Request Code in your account. It's 12 digits, works once, belongs to your account only, and expires 30 days after it's shown, so don't print a batch for later.
- On a 4x6 inch card or piece of white paper, blank and unlined, handwrite the code in the top-left corner. Under it: your full name as on your ID, your account email, your account's residential address, and the statement Chumba prints in its rules.
- Put one card in a stamped #10 envelope. Handwrite your return address and the words "Sweepstakes Entries" on the front, and address it in handwriting to Chumba Casino Sweepstakes Department, PO Box #9501, Portsmouth, NH 03802.
Two traps catch people: cards sent together in a package or parcel are invalid, and Chumba alone decides whether your handwriting is legible.
The math. Chumba's address is in New Hampshire, so a US letter stamp ($0.82 from July 12, 2026) is enough. At 5 SC a card, reaching the 100 SC minimum by mail alone takes 20 cards and about $16.40 in stamps, before any wins or losses. Its sister site Global Poker needs 10 cards, because its minimum is 50. Mail-In Sweeps Coins runs the same numbers for 16 other casinos.
How to redeem at Chumba
- Reach 100 SC. Chumba only processes a redemption worth US$100 or more, for cash and gift cards alike. That puts it in the larger group: of the 17 casinos in our rules comparison, seven let you cash out from 50.
- Play the coins through. At least once; Chumba can require up to 20 times.
- Match your details. The name and details on your account must match your ID, and Chumba can ask for checks before paying.
- Pick the prize. Cash goes back to the payment method or wallet you bought Gold Coins with, or to a bank account you name if that isn't possible. Gift cards go to your account email. How to Redeem Sweeps Coins for Cash compares the methods at 16 other casinos.
Chumba can cap redemptions at US$10,000 a day. In Florida, any single spin or play is capped at a US$5,000 prize.
Where Chumba can't be played
Chumba's own restricted-states notice, which is newer than its rules PDF, lists these states for Sweeps Coins play: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia. Mississippi is unusual: only 2 of the 17 casinos in our comparison exclude it, and Chumba is one of them. Where Are Sweepstakes Casinos Legal? explains which states ban sweepstakes casinos by law.
What Chumba's rules don't tell you
- How big the welcome bonus and the daily bonus are.
- How long a redemption takes. The rules give no time at all.
- Whether the rules have changed since version 18.0, dated August 28, 2025. It's the latest copy we could find, so we'll re-check it when Chumba publishes a newer one.

Frequently asked questions
How many Sweeps Coins does Chumba give for a mail-in request?
Five Sweeps Coins per valid Request Card, according to Chumba's Sweeps Rules. Each card needs its own 12-digit Postal Request Code from your account, and the code expires 30 days after it is shown.
Do Chumba Sweeps Coins expire?
Yes. Chumba's Sweeps Rules say Sweeps Coins are valid for 60 days from the date you last logged on, and then expire automatically. Logging in resets that clock.
What is Chumba's minimum redemption?
100 Sweeps Coins. The rules say Chumba only processes a prize redemption worth US$100 or more, so your account needs at least 100 eligible SC before you can request one.
How does the Chumba daily bonus work?
Sign in, click Get Coins, open the Daily Bonus tab and click Claim. You can claim it once a day, and the clock resets every 24 hours. Chumba doesn't publish the amount in its rules.
Where does Chumba send my prize?
Cash goes to the payment method or online wallet you used to buy Gold Coins, or to a bank account you name if that isn't possible. Gift cards go to the email address on your account.
How old do you have to be to play at Chumba?
21, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, according to the Sweeps Rules.
Is Chumba Casino real money?
No purchase is needed to play. Sweeps Coins won in play can be redeemed for prizes worth US$1 each once they meet the rules, and Gold Coins can never be redeemed.
