What "no statewide ban" really means
If your state isn't in the table, sweepstakes casinos generally still operate there. That's not a guarantee for any one site. Each operator keeps its own list of excluded states, and some exclude more than the law requires. The list in the operator's terms decides whether you can play and redeem.
Check three things before you sign up
- The operator's excluded-states list, on its terms or sweepstakes rules page.
- The date on any "legal states" list you read. A list from early 2025 is already badly out of date.
- Whether a ban in your state has a future start date. Oklahoma's, for example, starts November 1, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

California, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Washington, as of July 2026.
Can I play from a banned state with a VPN?
No. It breaks every operator's terms, and accounts caught doing it can be closed with the balance forfeited.
How often does the list change?
Often. The list has grown every few months since 2025. Check the date on any list you use and confirm with the operator's terms.
