How the calculator works
For every offer it works out the reward you expect and the time you expect to spend:
- Expected reward = reward × your chance of finishing.
- Expected time = chance × minutes to finish + (1 − chance) × minutes lost.
- Hourly rate = expected reward ÷ expected time × 60.
The overall rate adds up all your offers first, so a long offer that takes most of your time counts for more than a quick one. That's how a week of work really pays.
A worked example
Three made-up offers:

The survey looks like $3.60 an hour if you always finish it (10 minutes for $0.60). With half of them screening you out, it's $2.77. The $7.80 game offer looks like the winner until you count the 10 hours it takes and the 60% of attempts that go nowhere. The two small offers earn more per hour than the big one.
